The youth and volunteer staff at Hogar Enmanuel have formed a partnership with TOMS Shoes, and are distributing school shoes to children across the country. As TOMS Giving Partners the children of Hogar have learned the importance of giving back and sharing with those even less fortunate.

Hogar Enmanuel: A TOMS Giving Partners
Hogar Enmanuel became TOMS Giving Partners in 2011, thanks to the efforts of Andrea Chahín, who first approached the TOMS Shoe company about including the children of Honduras in their world-wide giving program. Caminando Con Amor allows the children of Hogar Enmanuel the opportunity to serve and make a positive difference in the lives of needy children throughout Honduras.
90% of the public schools in Honduras abide by the National Board of Education´s uniform requirements which includes a black pair of shoes.Our program serves approximately 85,000 children in over 200 public schools, orphanages and learning centers by giving them a new pair of black TOMS giving shoes every 6 months.
The gift of shoes twice a year has made a big impact on the lives and health of the children who receive them through our program, who´s main objective is to motivate the children to stay in school. The Giving Shoe also makes it safer for children to walk to school, especially in the most rural áreas of Honduras, where children often walk to school barefoot or in rubber sandals, exposing their feet to dangers such as lesions, fungus and parasites.
